Video – Hope Again
Summary
Data shows that each marital betrayal, malicious desertion/abandonment
and divorce is not a single event. Each is a multi-layer complexity underpinned by life-draining
actions/reactions in most cases. No two cases are the same but all are connected by a strand of
similarities.
What does a (Christian) spouse (with or without children) do in
the face of betrayal, abandonment and divorce? How should children react? Evidence
show that like a place of multiple fires, the spouse’s life starts unravelling with
relationships assumed to be solid giving way like dominos. Friends, family,
Church and work colleagues vanish. No, most Christians don’t always act Christ-like in these situations. God is His infinite Love allows such unloving for His greater glory.
The devastation and hurt in addition to the surprise of others’
reaction exposed the truth of human condition. It displays the
finest hours of a state. Pinned down by inherent contradictions, inconsistent policies and immutable
incapacity, its agents attempt ill-fated home runs of intergenerational destruction
on children. The state couldn't give satisfaction or justice. Pray for children in
these situations.
This film portrays the dynamics of a divorced single parent with teenage children. Everything deemed worthy was lost, raging hurt was consuming toward self-destruction, self-worth and trust dived, isolation attracted with feelings of a leper, the children are ravaged by confusion, most persons became suspects & God was concluded as absent until she surrendered to Him in a deep intimate prayer including for those who unleashed the unravelling. Importantly, a few dogged souls held on throughout the trial.
She forgave all as a convicted decision and lived it as a non-trivial commitment and process. She realised that only something bigger and outside of her can eliminate malice, anger, hate, fear and pride. Even her children held on and confronted the
beauty of a faithful God. Only in (total submission to) Him is joyful life-giving
existence possible for the betrayed, deserted/abandoned, divorced
and children particularly the parent-abducted/kidnapped.
I recommend this film.
